Burgers @ Spade's Burgers, SS15, Subang Jaya

Juicy meat within a fluffy bun and a cheesy center always satisfies. And what I was referring to was a burger. So you better not get any funny ideas ok?

What a menu!

Spade's Burgers has been a main player in the Penang food scene and has set up shop in SS15 not too long ago. I have always been interested in trying it out and finally got the time, and the stomach space to get it sorted. The place is simple, giving the impression of a classic American diner. Being a burger place, that is the main thing to order here. And the menu was just immense. From wasabi spiked to bacon filled, this joint has it all.

Straight up simple

But in the end, I opted for a classic cheese burger. No frills, no gimmicks. Just the original concept. I was thinking if they can get this down right, then anything from that kitchen would be good. And indeed it was.  The bun is that trademark black from the charcoal. But other than that, it looked like  regular burger. But it does not taste like your regular burger.

Really satisfying

The beef was aromatic, fresh and juicy. That Spade's secret sauce was creamy and has alot going on. So much so that I am not too sure what was in it. I suspect it was a paprika infused mayo, with some onion powder in it. Although I might be wrong. The cheese was great and held on like glue. In fact, there was also a Parmesan chip in it, making it a double cheese punch.

Oinky oinky

It was really delicious and was just too easy to gobble down and probably finished it in less than 3 minutes. But would that be all? Absolutely not. They do serve pork patties as well and had it on another visit. It was still a well executed dish, but I feel that the beef patty worked better. No better than the classics right? Yet, still finished it within  the 3 minute mark.

Another look into the premises

This is a straight up recommendation and if you a fan of burgers, you need to visit this place. Perhaps when I am this side of town I would try some of their crazy variants like the Porkception and the Dark Knight. And the food here is decently priced too. The classic cheese burger is about RM11 per burger. Additional costs do apply for more stuff, like bacon, more cheese and side dishes. Fancy a go? The address is as follows:
