Burgers @ Hungry Heaven, Imaizumi, Fukuoka
Some people mention that this is the best burgers in Fukuoka. Known for its interesting variety, amazing size and reasonable price, I tend to agree. I have been passing by this shop for many years now but it is time to head over and to get a gobble down. And what can I say? It is heavenly.

Hungry Heaven has built a name for itself in the prefecture as being a good place for an amazing chow down when it comes to burgers. If you ask people on the street about where is the best burger place there is, their options may differ but it is very likely that Hungry Heaven is one of them. Being here for so long, I can tell you that the burger scene is very competitive so to be in the top shelf does speak volume.

Speaking of volume, their menu has a great variety of amazing burgers. Sauces, meat types, even fish, you name it. However, since this is my first time here, I will go what a good burger place should excel at, the classic cheese burger. Called the Hungry Heaven Cheese, the burger itself stands at 1380 yen and if you add a side of fries it is and additional of 300 yen. As I was the only customer at the time, the food came relatively quick and it was a sight for sore eyes, especially when you were as hungry as me at the time, no pun intended.

| What a sight to behold |
The whole burger was stacked like a majestic tower with all the layers assembled with great precision. The bun was glistening with a dark brown hue, clearly not something you get from a supermarket, the patty jotting out and the cheese just waiting to be munched on. Speaking about it at it is already has caused something to rumble my stomach. The looks were not the only thing though. This burger really packs a punch and does live up to its appearance. You would be surprised but to me the first thing that popped out was the veggies. Most places would make their veggies like tomatoes and lettuce as an afterthought and just plaster whatever is there. But the leaves were folded expertly and the tomatoes and onions were well fastened. They were fresh and succulent which help provide some freshness and contrast to the patty.

Speaking of the patty, it was seriously some top notch stuff. You can feel the grain of the mince and the clearly beefy taste was very distinct, a testament to high quality and fresh meat. It was juicy and quite thick. I was surprised as to how they were able to execute this so quicky considering the girth of this monster but alas, it was just incredible. Their home made sauce provided a nice zest to the flavour and the cheese was a nice touch. The bun was also surprisingly sturdy despite its appearance. It was soft but supple, being a tool to help grasp onto this handheld powerhouse with relative ease.

The fries were alright, however they are the generic ones you probably get from any other place. Still, they were expertly fried and was very crunchy. Was still a nice companion to the meal, after all things considered. A glass of cola which stood for 200 yen helped put everything down real nicely. They do have craft beers if you are into such things but it was a weekday evening so I had to put the booze aside for that time. I would love to try their selection though, they look interesting. Definitely something I would consider for my next visit.
