Ice Cream @ Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory, Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur

It has been a long while since I have written something more contemporary and I sorely miss going on food recces. It is understandable that due to the travel restrictions locally and abroad over the past few months. But finally with things starting getting back to normal, here is a return (hopefully!) to the usual articles the blog is mostly made off, chowing down various morsels in various places. And why not start on a sweet note? And we got an exotic one in the house.

Options? Not much to be honest.

With an ice cream shop called Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory, it leaves little to the imagination as to what is in store. And you guessed it, milk and cheese ice cream. If you are a fan of savoury and salty, like salted caramel or maple infused bacon, this one takes the biscuit. The shop only serves three type of flavours, milk, cheese or a twist, which is a combination of the two. There are a few ways of having this, as you can choose for it to be served in a cup, cone or a sundae, which consists of the ice cream topped with a small slice of cheese cake and a Camembert cookie. Do note that all modes of ice cream deliverance comes with this tasty companion.

The cup was quite cute though.

Being my first time, I had the twist and in a cup, being the most basic. Best to go in for the first time without the frills no? And I really enjoyed it. The milk flavour was clean and creamy. It was not intense like vanilla, and that being the usual mild one shows how soft and subtle the flavours are. However, this was thoroughly enjoyable as the dairy was top notch and not overly sweet. Imagine having an ice cream that is flavoured using black forest cake frosting, and you would get the picture.

Witness the richness!

The cheesy component was the polar opposite. Intense, salty, with a pinch of tartness, it was the powerful contrast that somehow harmonizes well with the milk flavoured ice cream. It was much thicker too. But if you like cheese cakes (who does not?) then this will be something you enjoy. And I enjoyed this just as much. And combining the two elements was like yin and yang, two opposite forces creating some balance.

Pale beauty

The accompanying biscuit was not slouch either. Salty, intense with some sweetness, there was a buttery touch to it. A solid crunch on the outside, accompanied with a white chocolate center which was cheese infused, this was some killer biscuit. Looking very similar to the Shiroi Koibito  (白い恋人) cookies from Hokkaido, it definitely does not taste like it. Awesome.

A better angle of the shop.

This deserved a solid thumbs up from me, and not because I was finally able to get some ice cream after being cooped in the house for too long. The contrasting flavours are an absolute winner and they are not too bad price wise. The twist in a cup was RM12, but do note a price increase to RM18 if you want the cone. Also, its worth noting that if you would like to have a box of those delicious cookies, you can as they sell it separately.  Fancy a go? Then the address is as follows:

P1.01.00, Level 1 Pavilion KL, 168 Jalan Bukit Bintang, 55100 Kuala Lumpur

Another angle. Do note the biscuit boxes for sale.
