"God Level" Wan Tan Mee @ Jalan Sahabat, Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur

If you have had that late night post booze pangs before, then it is very likely know where I am referring to very soon. Located in the middle of Changkat stuffed with bars and pubs, lies this humble wan tan mee shack that only serves its food from 10pm onwards. A humble bastion for the hung over and the highly strung. And coincidentally or not, I was there at 1 AM.

Al fresco cooking

Many people give it rave reviews of it being authentic and old school. And old school it was. Plastic chairs and foldable tables, it was so old school, that it does not even have an actual name. But as it only opens from 10 PM, I will call this place the Late Night Wan Tan Mee Stall.

Your late night salvation?

Unpretentious and simple, the noodles were springy and the char siew was well seasoned. The sauce is the dark sweet sauce you come to expect from a Klang Valley style wan tan mee. Not too bad really The wan tans are quite small though, but it gets the job done. And a portion was for RM7.

Tiny

But I have to be honest, I like it but it is not the 'god level' noodles that many rave about. I mean its great that a humble eatery gets an almost 5 star rating on Google, but it is hard to take it seriously when most of the ratings were under the persuasion of Uncle Walker. Johnny Walker is his full name. Oh yea and his cousin Mr Daniels may be involved too. You probably have heard of him. Some call him Uncle Jack. If you have a look around and observe the patrons, you know what I mean.  I personally would not go through the trouble in making the effort to eat here in the future. And there are good and I dare say, better wan tan mee stalls that open during more forgiving hours.

A view from a different angle.

However, if you are hungry during those super late nights and you are somehow in Changkat during those hours (hey I am not judging), 'god level wan tan mee' may be what you need. Seriously. Google 'god level wan tan mee' and you get this stall. And if it was Google that directed to you to this page, I do thank you for your patronage. The address is as follows:

11, Jalan Sahabat, Bukit Bintang, 50200 Kuala Lumpur
